Your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2017 to register for Kindergarten.  Enroll Today!

This program is designed for students who show readiness for beginning academics.  Pre-reading skills include understanding concepts of print, letter/sound identification and phonemic awareness.  The Kindergarten curriculum provides the mathematical and early literacy foundation that students will build upon in future grades.

Our Kindergarten program will be Monday through Friday beginning at 8:40 AM with a 3:31 PM dismissal. This is a common dismissal time for our Kindergarten - 5th grade students.

Parent Waiver
A recently enacted Michigan Law amended the Revised School Code (MCL 380.1147), which has changed the minimum age requirement for a child enrolling in Kindergarten.  New legislation has changed the "cut-off" date.
Children must be five years old by September 1, 2017.

Parent Waiver Option

If the child is not eligible for enrollment per the guidelines specified above and will be five years old by December 1st, the child's parent or legal guardian can apply for a waiver to enroll their student in school.  Waiver deadlines and other information are as follows:

When in receipt of a waiver, districts can make recommendations to the child's parent or legal guardian, as to the child's readiness for school, and whether or not the child should be enrolled early.

Regardless of a district's recommendation, the parent or legal guardian retains the sole discretion to enroll their child.
