Joe Marckini
Joe Marckini, President
I am a life long resident of Kent County and member of the Cedar Springs community since 1996. I am the very proud father of two wonderful girls. Emily is a sophomore and Maria is in 8th grade. My wife Elizabeth and I both share the desire to serve the community and especially any organization which helps educate and support kids. We have been married for 19 years and both feel a strong connection to our adopted community. I am a member of Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 7 and am employed as a sheet metal journeyman. I currently serve on the Executive Board of the Kent County Democratic Party and am active in several committees. I have been President, Vice President and trustee of the Cedar Springs PTO Board of Directors.
My hobbies include keeping up on state, local and federal legislative activities and tending my large and bountiful vegetable gardens. I also assist with any activities my girls are involved in. I have coached AYSO soccer and been a Terrific Dad for Girl Scout troop #1668. I am a strong supporter of the public education system. I wish to help the Cedar Springs Public Schools do the best job possible in educating our kids. I hope to make sure that every childs’ educational needs are met and they are treated with the respect and compassion they deserve.
