Cedar Springs Public Schools

Purpose. Potential. Pride.
At Cedar Springs Public Schools, we know the more parents are involved with their child’s education, the better their school experience is.  You as a parent are the first steps to creating a positive learning environment for your child.
We encourage you to attend school activities, help your child with homework and keep them excited about learning. As questions come up, we encourage you to reach out to your student’s teacher or the principal at the building they attend.
Below you will find resources to help you get started in becoming more involved in your child’s journey at Cedar Springs Public Schools!

Community Tips from Spectrum Health

STEM Greenhouse
STEM Greenhouse was created to build relationships with students in and around Grand Rapids. Not only do we help plant the seeds for curiosity and comprehension, but we continue to grow these relationships throughout the student’s education so that they can thrive. We’ll provide the academic support, positive role models, and experiences that are so necessary to our children’s preparedness and self-confidence. In 2019, the STEM Greenhouse received the Showcase Afterschool Site Award for excellence in after-school programming, from the ELO Network. Visit STEM Greenhouse to learn more about how your student can participate.
Spectrum Health and YMCA's Veggie Van Experience
Thanks to Spectrum Health’s partnership with the YMCA Veggie Van, we have already visited more than 20 locations in 2021 giving out more than 4,000 bags of fresh fruits, veggies and nutritional recipes away throughout South and Western Michigan. Distributions will continue throughout the year. Visit their website for locations in Grand Rapids and Muskegon areas.
Young Professionals of Color Conference 2021
As Grand Rapids has grown, so have diversity and inclusion efforts from the business community. That’s why the Young Professionals of Color Conference (YPCC) exists.

The 10th Annual Young Professionals of Color Conference to be held virtually on July 16. Designed for the next generation of leaders, the conference encompasses innovative sessions for young professionals to engage with peers and leaders. This year’s “Celebrating Resiliency” will include a keynote from Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II sharing his personal and professional journey while preparing for the unexpected.
