Remarkable Red Hawks is a series created by students in CedarSpringsTV, an advanced video production course, at Cedar Springs High School (CSHS).  CSHS offers a variety of extracurricular activities for students to explore future career paths.  On top of core subjects, CSHS offers courses in Video Production, business, child development, marketing, web design, and more!

Captain Peter Noreen, Class of 2009

Since he graduated, Captain Peter Noreen has traveled the world. 
He continued his education attending Western Michigan University to study theatre.  On a whim, he decided to take a chance and apply to the United States Military Academy at West Point - watch to find out where this Remarkable Red Hawk is today.

Justin Balczak, Class of 2011

Justin Balczak, a 2011 graduate remembers his High School days being filled with random things. He was part of athletics, theater, and took a lot of different courses trying to find his nitch.  After graduation, Justin started college at Lake Superior State University only to find himself making a big move that would lead him to his future career.

Brad Slaight

American Comedian

Brad Slaight graduated from Cedar Springs High School back before the Red Hawk had hatched and was known as the ‘class clown’. 
Brad received a degree in Education from Central Michigan University and started teaching in Niles, Michigan - but soon his career path made a shift when he was asked to move out of the state.

Maddie Liggett, Class of 2014

Teacher - Cedar Springs Public Schools

When Maddie graduated in 2014, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in education, specifically in creating curriculum.  In her mind, elementary schools were underdeveloped in helping students start to think about their career path and she wanted to make a change.

Dr. Michelle Campbell, Class of 2004

Program Manager, Post Graduate, and Faculty Initiatives, University of Michigan

Dr. Michelle Campbell, a 2004 graduate credits Cedar Springs High School as the place where she had big transitions and was able to find her passion for the arts and English. 
Learn how this Red Hawk followed her passion to receive a PH. D. in English and now works at one of the top Universities in the country.

Brian Brecht, Class of 1984

Art Manager/Senior Producer - Epic Games

Brian graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1984.  He knew he wanted to work in the motion picture business, but being from a small town didn’t think that was a possibility.
Upon graduation, Brian started at the University of Detroit to become an architect...where he failed miserably.
Brian knew he needed to rethink his future, and take a chance on what he didn’t think was possible.
