Three of our high school students; Avery (Sophomore), Coryn (Junior), and Judy (Senior) attended the Drum Major Camp at Eastern Illinois University with hundreds of other Drum Majors from across the United States.
The 6-day program with a staff of over 28 instructors enables us to not only train great teachers, conductors, and leaders but also drum majors capable of serving as assistant band directors. The power of positive attitudes, high energy, and natural enthusiasm is integrated into the Smith Walbridge “System,” often imitated, but never matched.

At the end of the week, Judy won one of three 'Outstanding Dum Major Awards' (out of over 300 drum majors) and lead one of the groups in their final performance on Friday morning. Congratulations to Judy on the amazing accomplishment, and Avery and Coryn for showcasing their dedication to learning and representing our Cedar Springs Bands!
