Meet Up and Eat Up (Free Meals)

Meet Up and Eat Up returns this summer! Free breakfast and lunch are available for all children ages 18 and under. Meals must be eaten on site, but it is a great opportunity for students to connect with friends and enjoy a healthy meal.

Location: Early Childhood Center Cafeteria. Use the entrance off 17 Mile, park in the lot, and enter through Door #2 (right side before the basketball courts). Follow posted signs for Meet Up and Eat Up.

Dates: June 15–August 13, 2026 (No meals on July 2 or Fridays)
Days: Monday–Thursday
Breakfast: 8–9 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.–12:45 p.m.

Soaring Through Summer - Free Family Engagement Events

Get ready for FREE fun, learning, and family connection at our Family Engagement Events!

These fun, open house-style events are designed for K-5 students and their families, but all families are welcome to join us. Each event includes free hands-on learning activities, games, interactive experiences, and opportunities for families to connect throughout the summer while helping students stay engaged in learning.

  • June 16: Family Game Night | 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • July 22: A Day at the Beach | 9-11 a.m. (Lunch provided through Meet Up and Eat Up)
  • Aug. 13: Family Camp-Out | 9-11 a.m. (Lunch provided through Meet Up and Eat Up)

Cedar Springs Middle School Celebrates 2026 Honor Roll Students

Cedar Springs Middle School is proud to recognize students who earned academic honors during the 2025-26 school year.

Honor Roll recognition is awarded to students who maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for at least three of the four marking periods during the school year. This achievement reflects a strong commitment to learning, perseverance, and consistent effort in the classroom.

This year, more than 290 students in grades 6-8 earned Honor Roll recognition. Their dedication to academic excellence demonstrates the hard work taking place each day at Cedar Springs Middle School.

In addition, Cedar Springs Middle School recognized a group of eighth-grade students with Top Honors. This distinction is awarded to students who achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or higher throughout their three years at Cedar Springs Middle School.

The school also celebrated students who received the Outstanding Attendance Award. This recognition is presented to students who missed five or fewer class periods during the school year, demonstrating a strong commitment to being present and engaged in their learning.

"We are proud of each student recognized for their achievements this year," said Principal Courtney MacDonald. "Their hard work, determination, and commitment to learning have made a positive impact on our school community. We congratulate them on this accomplishment and look forward to seeing their continued success."

Community Food and Assistance Resources

We want to make families aware of an important update. Due to a federal funding lapse, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has been directed to temporarily pause the issuance of November SNAP (Food Assistance) benefits.

We understand this delay may create challenges for families who depend on these benefits for groceries and essentials. Please know our Red Hawk community cares deeply and is here to help. Below are local food and community assistance resources available to support families during this time.

Michigan 2-1-1
Dial 2-1-1 (available 24/7)
Connects individuals with local food pantries, meal programs, housing assistance, and other community services.

Feeding America West Michigan
Provides an up-to-date list of food pantries, mobile food distributions, and meal programs.

Hand2Hand
Provides meals and snacks for children on the weekend and extended school breaks, fill out the application here for K-8 Grades.
